After going on a three year hiatus, bassist Pete Wentz, vocalist Patrick Stump, drummer Andy Hurley and guitarist Joe Trohman (who previously denied reunion rumors
) are back in the scene with a new album. The four-piece American band will also be embarking on a tour starting today.
In a message posted on their official website, they say music and being in the band has gotten them through their live struggles since they were kids. They also said that this is not a reunion because they never broke up. The pop punk group from Illinois went on an indefinite leave on 2009 to do solo projects.
"We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us," said the band. "The future of Fall Out Boy starts now."
The new album called "Save Rock and Roll" won't be out until May, but the first single "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up)" is now available on iTunes.
