Rap-rock single "Kunwari" by Kamikazee and Gloc-9 serves as a reminder to the public for the up-coming elections

We are months away from another national election. On May 13, we will again be heading to polling precincts to choose a new batch of leaders.
While some musicians are for sure busy composing campaign jingles, Kamikazee and Gloc-9 opted to collaborate for a song aimed to remind voters not to elect greedy and corrupt officials. And for them, this is a project long overdue.
"Parang ang tagal tagal na naming nag-kakanchawan. Ilang taon na rin kaming naglolokohan pero hindi pa kami nakakagawa ng kanta together,"said Gloc-9 in our exclusive interview.
When asked what the song was about, Kamikazee's lead vocalist Jay Contreras said it's about our "funny" politicians. "Nakakatawa sila, eh. Akala nila nakaka-isa sila eh... Sa mga tatamaan, joke lang," added Contreras.
According to Gloc-9, the song also serves as a warning to government officials to serve the public well while seated in power. His 2009 single "Upuan" also tackled the same issue, and won the rapper the Favorite Urban Video trophy at the MYX Music Awards in 2010.
"Kunwari" also features Wolfgang/Razorback axeman Manuela Legarda and turntableist Biboy Garcia of Queso.
