Justin Bieber has surpassed Lady Gaga for Twitter's most followed person.
The "Boyfriend" singer earned the social media victory Monday night, as he reached 33,315,521 followers passing Gaga's 33,315,459.

, Bieber adds an aveerage of 40,055 users a day, Gaga currently adds 30,495, with Katy Perry in third place, growing her 31.4 million followers at the pace of 29,843 a day.
Lady Gaga joined Twitter on March 26, 2008, a year before Bieber. She has been the "Twitter queen" since then when she passed Britney Spears with over 5.7 million followers.
Gaga then tweeted Bieber as she hands the crown.
As of posting, Bieber now has 33,317,504 Twitter followers.
The two have always been competing in social media supremacy. On Facebook, Lady Gaga has a comfortable lead with 59.4 million likes, 4.3 million more than Bieber.
Justin Bieber's "Believe Acoustic" is set for release before the end of the month.
Lady Gaga is currently on tour and a new album, reportedly called "ARTPOP" is expected later this year.
