Ogie Alcasid celebrates his 25th year in the music industry with a star-studded album "The Songwriter and The Hitmakers".
The album is a compilation of his greatest hits, sang by the biggest recording artists in the country today including Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Piolo Pascual, Angeline Quinto, Christian Bautista, Sarah Geronimo, Noel Cabangon, Richard Poon, Jed Madela, Kuh Ledesma, Kyla, Jay-R, Jaya, Journey vocalist Arnel Pineda, and Ogie's wife Regine Velasquez.
Ogie is thankful that the recording companies are very cooperative in making this album possible. He said that the artists in the album are his personal choices, especially those whom he never worked with before like Journey's Arnel Pineda. "A lot of memories come to mind while listening to the songs.", he shares.
Some of the songs included in the album are "Ikaw Ang Aking Pangarap", "Pangako", "Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka", "Tayong Dalawa", "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw", and his personal favorites "Sino Ako", "Nakaw na Sandali", and "Kailangan Kita".
"I listen to people's stories and create a movie in my mind." said Ogie when asked what is his inspiration for writing such songs.
Becoming a hall of famer is his best milestone in his 25 years in the industry. "Receiving gold records and platinum awards are indications that the public supports my music." said Ogie.
Jay-R, who is also a part of the album said that he his privileged to be included in this star-studded album because it consists of well-known artists and it gives him a good feeling working with Ogie Alcasid.
According to Ogie, this album is his gift to the OPM industry. He is happy to know that OPM is emerging, which is the first goal of the OPM organization, where Ogie is the President. "OPM is not dead and it is here to stay.", he claims.
The press conference isn't complete without questions regarding his wife Regine Velasquez' concert last Friday. "Night before the concert I just kept praying for her because that's the only thing we can do.", Ogie shares. He said that he felt victorious and proud for his wife once she stepped on the stage that night. The date of the repeat concert is yet to be announced because they are still waiting for the medical clearance from the doctors.
