East meets west as Regine Velasquez met "Idol" alum David Archuleta.

Superstar couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid met "American Idol Season 7" runner-up David Archuleta last Sunday.

The couple met Archie when they went to the studio where the "Idol" alum was recording the Tagalog song "Nandito Ako," originally sang by Ogie Alcasid. As previously reported, Archie is in the country to shoot a drama series.

Mrs. Alcasid tweeted the encounter on her official Twitter account with the photo above.

The Songbird, who gave birth to a baby boy last November, is hard at work once again with an upcoming Valentine's concert with her hubby this February.

"Back to work ako medyo hirap iiwan ko si Nate hay:-(sorry anak work lang si mom," she said.

    I'm goona rephrase something. "has been and still is a fan of Regine" not was. He was even shocked when he saw her as what the article said. Please support David's new mini-series "Nandito Ako" to be aired on TV5 on Feb. 20. He is a great singer/songwriter/author/and now, ACTOR. :)

    Both artist respects David and same as with David. An article said that David was a fan of Regine way before he joined American Idol because he discovered her on youtube. Cool people! <3

    Did Regine and David record together? If so, I'm sure it would be beautiful. Hope MYX gets to premiere the song.
