2012 marks a new beginning for 6cyclemind, with a new lineup, new sound, and an upcoming album.
MYXph got to talk to the band during their listers night held at 70s Bistro where they performed, for the first time, tracks from their upcoming album. Tutti Caringal, on vocals, introduced the new lineup composed of Herbert Hernandez on guitars (from Moonstar88), Vic Aquino on drums, and original members Bob CaƱamo on bass and Rye Sarmiento on guitars. Tutti admitted that they were "at a loss" in 2011 while they were in the process of creating their new album, following the departure from the band of vocalist Ney Dimaculangan and guitarist Chuck Isidro. An emotional Tutti expressed his appreciation to the Minders in attendance and proudly introduced the fruits of their labor despite the challenges, calling it a "make or break album" for the band.
Performing the longest set they've ever performed, the brand new 6cyclemind indulged the crowd with previous hits like "Sige," "Sandalan," "Biglaan," and "Walang Iwanan" before introducing new tracks from the as-yet-untitled album: "Kontrabida," "Babalik Ako," and "Basta't Ako."
Here's the full performance of their new track, "Basta't Ako," from their upcoming album!
