The voice behind this collection is Princess. Young, pretty and vivacious, with a soothing voice to boot, Princess listens to a whole lot of other music like funk, rock, standards, acid jazz, and also confesses an affinity for chick rock bands and artists like The Corrs, Plum, Jewel, BVKelly Clarkson, Alanis and other similar types. Though she confesses that “My first love has always been light-pop, so acoustic music really fits me to a T” she also dabbles professionally in jazz and bossa through her two previous bands. “I have no qualms doing these songs, I listen to all these artists and their songs and it’s an honor remaking them. People will be pleasantly surprised, these are all different takes of these well known hits.”

It’s a tall order considering that she’s already remaking the hits of the current biggies of pop. Does she feel a wee bit conscious about it? “It’s ok to do these songs, this is different (acoustic versions) yet they still complimented the original versions.” Princess further makes a case of her serious love for music by adding; “I had a nine-to-five job in the field of marketing, and I taught college students part-time, but I love singing and performing. You can say that I’m addicted to it, because there’s never a day that I don’t sing, pick up a guitar or just plain listen to any song; I totally get a high on music.”

Already gaining ground at record charts nationwide, the CD “Addicted To Acoustic” has already broken into the Top Ten best selling charts of Odyssey Music & Video and Music One. This owes to the easily recognizable hits that fill up the 18 tracks of “Addicted To Acoustic.” FM stations across the metro also appreciates the ready-made hits album of Princess.
