WOLFGANG

Music critics have declared, “when it comes to playing loud, hard and fast, few bands have been able to match the sheer ferocity and onstage charisma of WOLFGANG.”

The mayhem wreaked by Basti Artadi’s brooding vocals and cryptic lyrics, Manuel Legarda’s fire-starting guitarwork, Mon Legaspi’s superb basslines – now newly joined by drummer Francis Aquino’s masterful work on the skins – are now back with a vengeance.

It’s been six years since the roar of Philippine heavy metal legends WOLFGANG has been heard – and they’re back to bring the thunder to the scene.

They’ve been described both here and abroad, as “almost technically flawless, with intense, compelling songs that alternate between doom and delicacy – WOLFGANG brings an aural onslaught, combing inventive riffs with melodic complexities, firmly rooted in the blues and the original fire of classic rock.” (WOLFGANG is the only Filipino band to have been successfully released in both the United States and Japan.)

Packing a wallop of critical praise as well as a slew of individual and band awards for excellence, WOLFGANG has been able to balance technical artistry, originality, and on-stage chops all at the same time.

Audiences are roaring back with approval, with the latest release of their 6th studio album – entitled “Villains” – which continues to rank as one of the few rock albums topping record-bar sales. Three sold-out arena concerts, and a fourth at Singapore’s Mosaic Music Festival 2009, in just 3 months, have made it clear that the “once and future kings of Filipino rock” are definitely here to stay.
