(Sow-Peez): A fresh breed of young and talented musicians has finally arrived in the Philippine music industry. They started performing back when they were high school sophomores, thus the name Sopiz. The band is composed of Cathy Go on vocals, Jordan Peralta on rhythm guitars, Glenn Retamar on lead guitars, Ruel Lising Jr. on bass and JB Paz on drums.
Sopiz is the band responsible for the chart toping hits such as “Wish I Never” which was an original composition of the band, “Cool Ka Lang”, a revival from Prettier than Pink band, and “High School Life”, an original song by the Mega Star Sharon Cuneta.
Aside from being busy fronting to our country’s major artists such as Bamboo, Side A, Orange and Lemons, Pinoy Big Brother housemates, etc., Sopiz is also actively performing in various gigs, special shows as well as in several TV shows. Their TV appearances include Unang Hirit, Umagang Kay Ganda, Boy & Kris, Myx Daily Top Ten and Myx Interactive. They are continuously being invited to perform in regular rock concerts in UP Sunken Garden and other major concert venues.
Sopiz did not only capture the sound of the youth but also became trendsetters being the only band endorsers of B.U.M. Equipment clothing line.
Currently, they are busy promoting their debut album entitled “High School Life”, under Bellhaus Entertainment Inc. Their latest single “Prinsesa ng Kaba” is about a young girls struggle to show her feelings to the one she secretly loves.
With their infectious pop-alternative music and superb stage performance, Sopiz is set to make a mark in the industry in no time.
