Boyce Avenue started 9 years ago when three brothers, namely Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel Manzano graced the stage of Pine View High School back in the year 2000. Little did these brothers know that it was the first of many live performances that they would get to do all around the world!
It was a rough start for the band as they initially had to go their separate ways when Fabian (Guitar and Vocals) had to pursue architecture in Florida and Daniel (Bass, Percussion and Vocals) went to law school in Harvard, Massachussetts. Luckily, their earnest desire to make music prompted the brothers to reconnect. When Daniel graduated from Harvard and Alejandro graduated from High School, they got together with Fabian and Stephen Hatker (drummer) to formally launch their band under the name that has got millions clicking on their online channels and requesting them to do cover after cover after cover.
Yet, the irresistible ingredient in the band’s long-line of musical skills is their edge in songwriting. Even before news of their success hit the world, they were recognized in competitions and awards from distinguished music organizations. “All The While” was a semi-finalist in the Independent Music World Industries Songwriting Competition, “Find Me” was also a semi-finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and “Hear Me Now” was also a finalist in the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association songwriting Competition. All these tracks are found in their debut album with songs that were mixed by Austin Depula (Eisley, New found Glory) and mastered by Rodney Mills (Pearl Jam, REM and Sheryl Crow) entitled, All You’re Meant to Be to be was released in the Philippines by MCA Music, Inc. February of 2009.
